Phoenix Walk for Farm Animals

This was published in the Farm sanctuary newsletter:

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Walk! This is the first year that Animal Advocates of Arizona has hosted this annual event and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. You attended in record-breaking numbers and also raised a record-breaking $16,743 that goes directly toward the care of the farm animal residents at Farm Sanctuary. Animals such as Nik, who was recently rescued by Farm Sanctuary after running loose and terrified since August. His days of starving in the freezing cold are over. He is home now.

In the spirit of community and generosity, you came together to take a stand in support of compassion for all and we are so very impressed with what you accomplished. Phoenix’s highest-earning individual fundraiser was Robert McCormick, the highest-earning youth was Parker Llewellyn, and the highest-earning team was Creative Living Fellowship (GreenFaith Interfaith Partners for the Environment). The top fundraisers, including team members who raised at least $100, get to receive a special prize. Congratulations for your achievement everyone!

We welcome you to click here for the list of amazing individual walkers and teams who made this year's Walk an enormous success, and check out the beautiful photos from famed photographer and long-time Walk volunteer Rob Branch-Dasch.

Our powerful guest speaker (and original Walk coordinator) Kari Nienstedt and entertaining musical talent Craig Haley and John Pino volunteered their time to make this year's Walk that much more memorable. Christy Stanton of Metta Yoga generously offered a complimentary pre-Walk warm-up stretch session. Also, Green, Nami and 24 Carrots provided mouthwatering samples for walkers to enjoy.

The Walk volunteers did a tremendous job, thank you! Your assistance made for a super smooth event. From volunteers who requested and helped to secure/transport 'Pick Your Prize' raffle prizes, all who arrived super early to set up, then everyone that worked the registration tables and during the event, and also volunteers that helped to pack up - you were all fantastic!

We’d like to give a huge thank-you to our Walk sponsors: 180 Degrees Automotive, 24 Carrots, A Gypsy Blue Moon, AcmePrints Screen Printing, Animal Guardian Network's Treasure Gypsies, Biltmore Pro Print, Green New American Vegetarian, Know Thank You, Laughing Buddha Yoga Studio, Loving Hut, Metta Yoga, nami, Pizza Heaven Bistro, Pomegranate Cafe, Primarily Pilates, Sprouts Farmers Market, and Strawberry Hedgehog. Please consider patronizing these generous animal-friendly businesses!
