How did you get interested in New Thought/Religious Science?
I stumbled on Religious Science during a challenging time in my life. I was seeking spiritual community for years and after going to a variety of different places, I asked a trusted friend if he had a suggestion. He mentioned that he went to CLF. My first experience was at the Christmas Eve Service and I immediately felt a sense of belonging. I started coming regularly and began to notice my attitude was shifting. But it wasn’t until I started taking classes that I learned how aligned the philosophy was with what I believed.
Who are some of your most significant teachers/mentors?
Prior to coming to CLF, I studied many different philosophies and spiritual teachers including Buddhism, Yogananda, Wayne Dyer, Neal Donald Walsh, Deepak Chopra, Ekhart Tolle, etc. I also was introduced to yoga and meditation at an early age. Once I decided that CLF was my spiritual home and started down the Prac track Rev Michelle, Dr Bobbie, other SLC and my classmates have been significant influences. I am grateful for all of them and the journey that has brought me to now.
Do you have an area (such as health, prosperity, pets, etc.) that you are drawn to?
Some areas of passion and focus include creating community, disrupting aging and reinventing well. I have worked on creating an intentional community since 2010, serve as a Leader in the Community First initiative and coach/mentor/teach people who are reinventing themselves in new careers/work and relationships. Bringing mindfulness and spiritual tools to business, work and life are some of my specialties.
Do you prefer to work face-to-face, over the phone, or other ways?
I am comfortable working in person or on the phone but prefer in person if possible.
Are you a native of Arizona?
I am originally from Albany, NY where my parents settled after immigrating from Europe. I moved to Arizona in 1991 with my fiancé to work with the Sedona Institute that was based in Phoenix.
Did you start in another religion?
I did not grow up with any organized religion and asked my Mother when I was 12 to take me around to various churches because I was interested in finding community. She obliged and I tried everything from Quaker, Methodist to born again Christian. As a spiritual seeker, I kept looking until I finally found home at CLF.
What is your greatest joy about being a Practitioner?
Using my gifts of getting to the heart of the matter, light and laughter, I help others awaken and connect to themselves and their truth on a deeper level. As a Coach and mentor, it is my joy to serve others in this way. My business MENTOR for HIGHER provides workshops, sessions and support for people seeking new perspective, awareness and breakthroughs in their life.
